It got hotter and the lake got flatter as the day went on, but Steve’s peg got better and better, fishing a small pellet feeder cast to the island with a banded 6mil he landed over 70 carp – 6lb in his total weight of 176lb 2oz. Best of the rest was Daz Staley fishing the pole and paste short at 6m for carp -7lb in his 111lb 1oz catch.

Another hot day but with a nice gentle breeze making the heat bearable. Young Will Evans (pictured with part of today’s catch) drew peg 45 and fished a banded 6mm pellet shallow tight to the island feeding 4mils over the top he landed 58 carp – 5lb and put his best ever weight of 184lb 2oz on the scales. Just missing out in 2nd place Steve Morgan fished a small pellet feeder at peg 4 for a level 181lb of carp – 8lb.

On this red hot day it was always going to be hard on this shallow lake, but first timer at the fishery Steve Morgan made it look easy, fishing a small pellet feeder filled with micro’s with a banded 6mm hard pellet on the hook cast tight to the small island at peg 12 he landed 42 carp – 5lb in the only ton weight of the day 126lb 7oz.

A cold easterly foggy day with a max temp of 6 deg, it’s been warmer in winter. Returning back fishing having packed up in Autumn Kristian spent all winter watching fishing video’s, he drew peg 14 and fished the pole out at 13m and short at 6m with pellet and corn he landed 15 carp – 6lb and 3 margin fish – 8lb putting him 5oz in front of Pete Ellis with 63lb 8oz. Pete fished the pole and pellet at 9m for 63lb 3oz of carp.

Starting an hour early due to putting the clocks forward and a flat calm lake after a frost made it hard for all but it got better as the match progressed, Richard Carline drew peg 38 and fished a pellet scoop feeder cast to the island landing 24 carp – 3lb finishing with 51lb 14oz, 4lb in front of Andy Birkin who had to fish the pole and pellet at 17m up to the island to get a bite landing 17 carp – 7lb.

Everyone was catching at the start of the match but as it got colder through the day the bites dried up, but Dave Briggs had already done the damage. Drawn at peg 36 opposite the big island he fished the bomb and pellet working it up and down the island loose feeding 6mils over the top he landed 15 carp – 8lb in his total of 63lb 6oz.

Top pegs at the fishery at the moment are the pegs either side of the bore hole pegs 30 + 32. Lee draw bag Hassett drew 32 fishing the pole and banded pellet at 14m towards peg 31 he landed 90lb 11oz of carp – 7lb to win with just a two pound margin over Adie Picton fishing the same method at peg 30.

Having to run the spinners and a delayed start the break the remaining ice we all knew it was going to be hard, but veteran angler Pete Ellis was having none of that, fishing the pole and maggot out at 16m towards the island at peg 45 he was into from the off, landing over 30 carp – 4lb in his summer weight of 72lb10oz.

The day started cold and with very light winds and dry bright spells later. Cavandish fished well from the off in stark contrast Sherwood lake fished hard. The final results show just how close it was. Think most enjoyed the challenge hope that we can make it happen again next year.

Strong gusty winds blowing down the lake making pole fishing very difficult. Fishing the pellet scoop and pellet tight to the island at peg 38 Terry had a busy day landing 25 carp – 8lb for 78lb 4oz for top spot, the next three places were separated by just 9oz, with Neil Madagin edging it with 65lb 10oz.

Again we are greeted with strong winds and rain from storm Georgina making pole fishing near impossible, in 1st place making it three wins in his last three matches at the lake Sean fished a pellet feeder at peg 9 casting to the lily pad on the far bank with a pellet wafter on the hook landing 31 carp – 8lb for a winning weight of 111lb 14oz his day got better when he drew out his peg for the contents of the free golden peg. In second place Phil fished the pellet feeder and pellet at peg 32 for 26 carp – 7lb in his net of 92lb 9oz.

The day started with 5-6mm of ice on the ponds to break thanx to Lee for sorting most of Sherwood for us😊 most of the weights were made up with mainly Perch with Daz making the most of this giving him the best catch of the day. Most managed to catch something with snow and rain making things as hard as it could possibly get

Only the most dedicated (Or Maddest) turned out in this weather starting with snow, sleet and very strong pole breaking winds. In first place Dave fished banded pellet on the bomb cast to the island at peg 38 landing 8 carp – 8lb for 32lb 14oz, also with 8 carp Mick fished ledgered pellet cast to the spinner finishing one fish short with 27lb 2oz.

As the temperature dropped through the day Danny’s peg got better, fishing the pole and pellet out at 14 & 16m he caught steady all day landing 33 carp – 5lb putting 93lb 12oz on the scales. Down the other end of the lake Nigel caught on everything he tried but it dried up towards the end when it got really cold he still managed to weigh 78lb 15oz.

With part of the lake froze up and melting into the lake it was always going to be hard but all anglers caught, in first place Sean fished a small scoop feeder with an orange wafter for 9 carp for his 35lb 12oz winning weight. Phil in second place lost 8 carp and managed to land 5 in his 26lb 7oz catch.

A sharp drop in the temperature down to minus 5 dropped the big weights with half the lake froze you needed to draw in the 30s. In first place for his second match win on the trot Paul drew favored peg 32 fishing the pole and soft pellet he landed carp – 7lb in his 55lb 12oz winning catch.

A perfect start to the match with no wind but that soon changed, with the wind making it impossible to fish the pole. Richard drew peg 32 and there was only going to be one outcome, landing 16 fish on the pole and pellet and 20 more on the straight lead and pellet fished over his pole line he put a massive 122lb 2oz on the scales.

Storm Eleanor made presentation hard but it didn’t put the carp off feeding, Sean drew peg 9 and started off on the bomb and pellet cast to the old lily bed landing 7 carp followed by 15 more on the pole and pellet when the wind calmed down weighing in 91lb 1oz of carp – 6lb.
