As the temperature dropped through the day Danny’s peg got better, fishing the pole and pellet out at 14 & 16m he caught steady all day landing 33 carp – 5lb putting 93lb 12oz on the scales. Down the other end of the lake Nigel caught on everything he tried but it dried up towards the end when it got really cold he still managed to weigh 78lb 15oz.

With part of the lake froze up and melting into the lake it was always going to be hard but all anglers caught, in first place Sean fished a small scoop feeder with an orange wafter for 9 carp for his 35lb 12oz winning weight. Phil in second place lost 8 carp and managed to land 5 in his 26lb 7oz catch.

A sharp drop in the temperature down to minus 5 dropped the big weights with half the lake froze you needed to draw in the 30s. In first place for his second match win on the trot Paul drew favored peg 32 fishing the pole and soft pellet he landed carp – 7lb in his 55lb 12oz winning catch.

A perfect start to the match with no wind but that soon changed, with the wind making it impossible to fish the pole. Richard drew peg 32 and there was only going to be one outcome, landing 16 fish on the pole and pellet and 20 more on the straight lead and pellet fished over his pole line he put a massive 122lb 2oz on the scales.

Storm Eleanor made presentation hard but it didn’t put the carp off feeding, Sean drew peg 9 and started off on the bomb and pellet cast to the old lily bed landing 7 carp followed by 15 more on the pole and pellet when the wind calmed down weighing in 91lb 1oz of carp – 6lb.
